A professional portrait image goes by many names such as headshot, profile image or simply a portrait. Whatever you call it, a professional image can
make a big difference, whether it be for business website, LinkedIn profile, model portfolio, or any other purpose. For businesses, it is super important to portray your team members in a professional and approachable manner so that it will reflect the professionalism of your business.

Budd Photography provides flexibility to have images captured at your workplace or any location suitable to your requests. We bring along all the lighting and everything we need to make it as simple and efficient as possible, whether that be for one team member or a whole office of staff. We understand that most people don’t really look forward to ‘photo day’ so we aim to make it as stress-free as possible for everyone.

There are a few things to consider before the photo session and some questions to work through such as;

  • What persona am I trying to portray (professional, casual, approachable, strong leader etc)?
  • What background will work best (plain backdrop, outdoors, etc.). As an example, an architect may be best suited to have a strong image portrayed adjacent to a building or architectural feature, whereas a social worker may be best suited in a softer, natural environment.
  • Is there already a set of headshots that need to be matched to. Eg. A new team member needs to be added to the website and all the team currently have a plain grey backdrop.
  • What is best to wear?
  • What location is most appropriate? If it is an outside location, what would be the best time of day for lighting/sun angle etc
  • How do I stand and where do I put my hands? Don’t worry about the posing as we will guide you into position and the aim is to capture you, as you are… so we won’t be expecting you to become a contortionist or to have the modelli
