Our first stop in Western Australia was at Kununurra and we really enjoyed exploring the town and a day trip up to Wyndham. The scenic beauty of the region is enhanced by the access to water, allowing the cultivating of crops through the Ord River irrigation scheme. It is always inspiring to see such great projects being established in towns, providing essential industry development and employment.
As the sun sets, the bats take flight… and they just keep coming in by the thousands..
and the bats still keep coming…

Roadtripping to Wyndham via a short walk at The Grotto
Five Rivers Lookout at Wyndham is spectacular. Well worth the drive!
A short diversion on the way home to the southern entrance of Parry’s Lagoon… however we didn’t get too far before realising it was probably the wrong track. The northern entrance would be a much better option for next time.
