I was recently commissioned to photograph students and trainers involved in rural training conducted by RITE (Rural Industry Training and Extension Ltd) at Virginia Park Station, via Charters Towers.  This was a special project for me as I have very fond memories of Virginia Park Station from my daughter’s year 6 school camp, 12 years ago.

The project developed into a whole lot more than just photography, and has resulted in a short promotional video, showcasing the ‘behind the scenes’ of what happens during the block training for Cert II in Agriculture.  This would be one of my favourite projects that I have had the opportunity to work on and I thoroughly enjoyed meeting and filming the students and trainers at Virginia Park Station.  RITE training is certainly very unique in the way students are immersed in an experience of living and working on a working property, while attaining their formal training at the same time.  They certainly get well looked after and the food is every bit as good as I remembered from school camp.

For further information about the training check out the RITE website.

In the meantime, enjoy the video by clicking on the image below.
